BerkCare is a nonprofit under 501(c)(3) based in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, dedicated to fostering an inclusive community where adults with developmental disabilities can lead healthy and fulfilling lives.

 

Our approach emphasizes home, relationships, and community, creating family-like settings that provide belonging and purpose.

 

Through shared living and tailored support, BerkCare creates a safe home environment where each person's voice, preferences and supported choices truly matter. Care is personalized based on each person’s strengths, goals, communication style, and needs, allowing individuals to thrive and stay connected to the broader community.

 

Oak Lodge and Luna House are BerkCare’s residential homes. Here, housemates enjoy shared meals, daily routines, companionship, and opportunities for recreation and community involvement,

We love staying connected with other life-sharing communities in our area, as well, and regularly gather for meals, parties, and group outings.

We participate in a rich variety of activities in the area, including art, music, movement classes, hiking, swimming, water sports, skiing, gym, horseback riding, cultural/social events, and the development of practical life skills.. We have easy access to many beautiful lakes and areas for hiking, outdoor activities and exploration.

 

We strive to empower people to live, grow, learn and achieve together in a culture of respect, warmth, and dignity.
